Our fascination with cities, and the desire to understand urban issues and resilience has inevitably led us to work with the informal economy, which is usually closely related to transport infrastructure.

We have a long history of working in various capacities in the Warwick precinct in Durban, which is the trade and transport hub, and have built up considerable experience in the process, which is widely applicable. The Bovine Head cooks market, designed through a participatory process in 2001, was featured in the Smithsonian’s ‘Design with the other 90%.
